The Laboratory Sensibilab

logo_icon_1SensibiLab develops solutions and models of systems and sensors usable in the remote monitoring of clinical research, in telemedicine, sports and aids for the disabled.
Activity is concentrated on the design of wearable solutions to measure biological signals, and communication aids to support the handicap.
Creation of these devices foresees possible areas of experimentation and the development of local services such as home assistance or welfare structures (domotics) as well as the monitoring of biomedical signals: for emergency aid and/or telemedicine in remote areas; for control during working hours; for sports medicine or fitness, also personal; during and after recovery in hospital.

The laboratory operates on three levels:

  • technology, with the creation of sensor systems and their pre-processing architecture for the non-intrusive measurement of bio-physiological parameters;
  • methodology, developing methods and algorithms for processing, in experimental and non-conventional paradigms, the data arriving from the sensors;
  • application, experimentation and services in clinical, rehabilitative and sports areas.

SensibiLab is characterised by its capacity to rapidly transfer the results of research to technological products in the sectors regarding wearable monitoring devices and technologies for interfacing disabled persons with the computer.

The foreseen applications and services represent a significant potential development in terms of health and public safety.
